The Scarcity of Silver Coins

After a week of reportedly significant gains for both gold and silver; there have been a increasingly large number of reports relating to a scarcity of silver coins in the marketplace.
For last week, gold futures reported an overall increase of two percent along with silver futures making a remarkable charge of eight percent. Many insiders say that many different factors have added to the sharp increase in price, however one of the major contributors has been the hostility and insecurity in the Middle East.
Several members of the Certified Coin Exchange say that demand heavily outweighs supply for silver coins at the current moment and that very few coins are currently available to purchase. Rumor suggests that a majority of long time buyers may end up having to take transfer of their silver coins that could potentially exceed what Comex expects as the deliverable supply. The Certified Coin Exchange could not be reached directly for comment.
The vice president at Blanchard & Co., David Beahm commented that during the time that the company has seen a sharp increase in the demand for silver coins, they have not necessarily seen a shortage for the product. He further commented that the price for silver coins actually matches up with what is happening in most commodity markets at the moment.
Assets the investors can actually buy, own and physically own are becoming more and more desirable as economic uncertainty continues to unfold.
It will be interesting to see what unfolds in the upcoming months when the demand for silver coins could exceed even the current demand.
